Illuminator 2 Design Files

Illuminator 2 is a model rocket purpose-built for night flights.  It features a largely transparent body tube, with 240 high-output LEDs sequenced by a PIC16F506 microcontroller.  It had its maiden flight at the annual FLARE Night Launch, on 2014-10-04 at our Waterfalls launch site. The design files, and some notes on lessons learned, will be on this page.

I’m releasing all of the design files and code here under the GNU General Public License, Version 3.  Please feel free to use them for whatever purpose you’d like.  There will be some notes on errors in the PCB layout and construction which you would be well advised to fix before making use of it; if you do so, I’d appreciate it if you could send me the updated version.

:  the airframe is designed using openrocket.
